What the Broken Arrow code says

Drinking in public is unlawful in Broken Arrow except where the state ABLE Act allows it. Then the code adds a line most of its neighbours leave out: it is not a violation to be intoxicated on the premises of a private residence with the owner's consent. If your event is in somebody's back garden, that sentence is the one you want to have read. Chapter 4, Section 4-16.

Broken Arrow repealed its separate low-point beverages chapter on 1 October 2018 after State Question 792, so beer and spirits now sit under one set of rules here. City legislative record.

One state rule covers all eight

Since 1 July 2026, Oklahoma has required that alcohol served on the premises of an event venue be served by someone holding an ABLE licence, and that holds even when you bought the alcohol yourself. Buying it does not make you the server. 37A O.S. Section 2-113(I).
